This is a seat belt harness tie exclusively for use on Century car seats manufactured after January 1, 1996. A harness tie is the doohickey that keeps shoulder straps in the right position–snugly together down the baby’s or toddler’s front. If they get broken or lost, replacement is essential: otherwise, because kids have such narrow bodies, the force of an accident can eject them from their seat right between the straps. This oval plastic replacement snaps into two halves and is easy to thread onto the straps. –Richard Farr
